Running With Scissors 5K Road Race
Running With Scissors: It's a bad idea, just like living with undetected heart disease. This 5K road race is a local run we took part in to help raise money and awareness for heart disease in women, despite the snow and cold that day we ran like the wind.
Gideon Welles School
River Garden is a project in the middle of a parking lot island that, together with the teachers and students, we created a nice walking path and native plantings around it to mirror the CT river.
Courtyard project: renovate the old concrete patios as well as add a new paver platform area for students to use as an outdoor stage.
Welcome to Glastonbury Sign
Town of Glastonbury Welcome Sign - This sign was an overgrown mess of weeds and grasses. We pulled everything out and replaced it with a nice mix of multi-seasonal plantings from evergreens, flower shrubs and even a few spring bulbs. We continue to maintain this project as well.
Community Tree Planting
General had the opportunity to lend a helping hand to GPIP (Glastonbury Partners In Planting). GPIP was the recipient of the Sestaro Fund and allocated the money to the group's tree nursery where they had 27 trees balled and burlapped, GL then picked up a few of them and planted them at various locations int he center of town.
Show Case Show House
General Landscaping was able to take part in transforming the front of a stately older home in the West end of Hartford for the Hartford Women's Junior League in 2011. The front of the house went from old and outdated to a new fresh spring look for all visitors to enjoy.

Horticulture Ribbon
Ribbons won at the 2014 Flower Show for Horticulture entries all grown in our designer's own yard.
